in-yoo : the start
in-yoo reflects our common passion and dedication for both Japanese culture and everything related to visuals.
This is how motifs such as Makinvaders, Origamis, Carps out of water, Koï Nobori appear on our high qulity T-shirts, made with Fair-Trade, organic cotton produced in ethical conditions.
Thus, in-yoo was born: a short, sweet seductive name.
To illustrate our line of products, what could be better than a name meaning the sun and the moon, the yin and the yang?
Because the sun and the moon are a perfect illustration of our ecologically-responsible attitude.
Because we are all made of IN and YOO.
Because the carp koï on all in-yoo items is the symbol of strength and perseverance for Japanese people.
in-yoo : the team
I am Françoise Larmet, a graphic designer. I studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nimes.
I moved to Paris to work with the most famous French publishers (Seuil, Grasset..)Â for whom I designed the covers of numerous books.
When the digital technology appeared, I moved from the print to the video, and did the design and animation of scores of DVDs for quite a few years.
Â
I am Florence Barthélemy, a graduate in Film, Television and Audiovisual Studies.
My passion for the Cinema led me to work in a Film Laboratory where I learned digital remastering of films.
I then took over the responsibility of a DVD studio in a laboratory in Paris until July 2009.
Â
Together, at the beginning of 2011, as long-standing friends who share the same tastes, dreams and values, decided to create in-yoo, a brand that reflects our personalities.

Advantages of our t-shirts 100% organic cotton:
The entire range of T-shirts in-yoo is manufactured exclusively in Tanzania. Organic cotton is considered one of the fibers most environmentally friendly in terms of textile production. He brings many benefits to the community and the local environment:
- It is more environmentally friendly because it avoids the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, sources of pollution of land, water and air.
- It is better for plants and animals (many bees and frogs that the massive use of pesticides wiped out)
- It is not genetically modified
- It requires less water while our African cotton is fed naturally by rainwater, without recourse to artificial irrigation
- Farmers receive a premium price for organic cotton and receive a guarantee of purchase
- Premiums are allocated to support community projects such as building wells for clean drinking water
- Organic cotton is healthier for farmers, smallholders and rural communities of Tanzania and Uganda.

Serigraphy:
So far there is no 100% biological serigraphy. So we managed to select a list of serigraphy professionals showing a concern for the environment. We only work with those who advertise Imprim’Vert and Oeko-Tex labels.

Â
Transfer:
We chose to work with the French brand Chemica which uses such products as flock and flex as these have the Oeko-Tex label.
We naturally only deal with the firms that got the certification which guarantees a yearly check against environmental ly-damaging products.
Â

Eco-labels and organic/fair-trade certifications:
Â
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified by Control Union
The GOTS certificate is a guarantee that the organic status of textiles is maintained from the harvesting of raw cotton to the point when the finished garment is despatched. It further ensures this is done through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing processes.
Â

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI)
A non-profit organisation dedicated to the improvement of working conditions in the supply chain, with criteria developed in association with the ILO, OECD and UN. Factories we work with are audited against the BSCI Base Code and encouraged to commit to a programme of ongoing improvement.
Â

Â
Oeko Tex Association
The Oeko-text standard 100 was introduced at the beginning of the 1990s as a response of consumers needs for textiles which posed no risk to health.
Â
They test garments and raw materials against the Oeko Tex 100 standard, to ensure no harmful substances or dyes are used at any stage of the production process or are left in residue on any finished garment.
Â
We hold the Oeko Tex 100 certification for our entire collection and include ‘Class 1’, covering the most stringent safety tests for babywear.
Â
And for heat transfers for textiles, our products are certified oeko-tex 100 class 2.
Â
Class 1Â : textiles and textile toys for babies and Small children up to the age of three
Â
Class 2Â : textiles which, when used as intended, have a large part of their surface in direct contact with the skin
